RNY Surgery

It finally happenned. I have wanted to have WLS for 3 years, and it happened. I had gastric bypass surgery this week.......Wednesday, August 19, 2009. Now......the hard work begins. It bothers me that people think this is the easy way out. Are they crazy? Even people who live on the strictest diet are allowed to cheat sometimes. On days like Thanksgiving or Christmas they can fill up their super-sized plate with that of creamy mashed potatoes, cheesy green beans, 5 cheese macaroni, rolls, ham, and 15 types of pies. But us............those of us who experience Gastric Bypass Surgery............, we cant ever "cheat." Our lives are changed forever. We will be eating off of baby plates and everything new we eat, we risk getting sick. We have to read every package to see how much sugar, how many calories, how many carbs, how much fat....blah, blah, blah. We can't EVER go to the vending machine, buy a bag of M&M's, and eat it without a thought. We can MAYBE havce 2 or 3 m&m's...........that's it. We also have to excercize........everyday!!! and we have to have surgery, go through a lot of pain, completely restructure our bodies, our minds, and everything we ever did. So "EASY WAY OUT?"...... i think not.
